Star Tropics is a pinball museum located on the third floor of Lloyd Center.
Like many museums, a great part of it is restoration, so in addition to the machines that are working, you can get a look at works in progress and ideas on parts.
While the focus is pinball, there are homages to other types of games.
Mainly this shows up in a strong Tron presence.
Pinball itself is plenty of fun, but it takes some work to get the hang of it.
That is why it is nice that your admission gets you unlimited play.
Staff was wonderful. One staffer expressed admiration for Next Level when we mentioned it.
While it's true that Next Level has more space and more games, it is in kind of an isolated location.
That gives Star Tropics an environmental advantage.
You can play, then go get something to eat.
Play some more, and then shop a little before more play.
There is a lot of convenience in how much there is to do there.
Why not play a little?
COVID: This is indoors. It was not crowded while we were there, but it just makes sense to mask.
Accessibility: Getting around the museum is fine. Ability to use the controls can vary, depending on the game and your abilities. However, while we wanted to pay just for looking (because, museum), that nice young man would not let us pay if we were not going to be playing. So, if you needed to check game heights and things before settling in, I believe they would let you.
Of course, there are flashing lights.
