Beaverton: The Beverly the Beaver Trinket Trail

We first encountered a Beverly the Beaver Trinket Box at Ome Calli.

What could this be? Well, the Beaverton Downtown Association has a mascot to help publicize events and local businesses and generally promote our town, which is "West of Weird."

This includes some of the businesses having boxes where visitors can take and add trinkets. Stickers are very popular.

The web site does show Beverly stickers, which seems to be the only Beverly-specific merch, though there were also some beaver keychains, not too hard to come up with in Oregon.

We spent a day visiting six boxes and adding trinkets. Some needed it more than others.

Will it increase traffic to these businesses? I don't know. It may well make visiting these businesses more fun, especially for kids. That's all right.

COVID: There are mostly indoor boxes with businesses where you would eat. However, the 1st Dining Commons and the Wu Wei Wellness boxes are outdoors.

Accessibility: This is mostly good, but it can vary by location.
