Yesteryear Farms in Wilsonville

We decided to check out Yesteryear Farms after seeing it declared the "cutest" pumpkin patch in Oregon at https://thatoregonlife.com/2023/09/top-pumpkin-patches-oregon/

Even the cardboard boxes storing the pumpkins are cute!

They have several photo-ready settings, including the "house" of pumpkins and several pint size cutouts.

They do reasonably ask that for any professional sessions you schedule in advance.

What really drew me was the pumpkin lot itself. Something about the flags and the pumpkins overhead made me think of a car lot, but not in a bad way.

There was also some pretty good hay bale art.

One thing we were curious to try was the mystery corn maze. Based on the game Clue, you could solve a barnyard mystery.

You start with a card that has locations, suspects, and weapons, then make your way to different stations inside the maze.

This station tells us that it was not the chickens, not at the haystack, and not using rat poison. Hole punches at each station allow players to track their progress.

There was also a smaller maze, perhaps better for younger players, where they could check tracks.

Technically the maze has three sections: the large maze with the punch card stations, the small maze with the tracks, and the sunflower maze. It's huge.

We were told that there was something we could scan for GPS. We soon came to regret not paying more attention to that feature.

Delusions of grandeur.

The farm store decor is delightful.

At other times of year there are Christmas trees and fireworks, as well as other activities. There were several food trucks available.

One of the things that impressed me most was the signage on the way to the farm.

I don't have photos of that, but as we got closer, there were visible signs at two key turns and banners at the entrance to parking. Navigating country roads is not always that easy.

I haven't seen every pumpkin patch in Oregon, but I have to agree that this one is pretty cute.

COVID: You are mostly outside and able to distance. The only real exception is inside the store, which is pretty open but where you are closer.

Accessibility: I was pretty shocked that there were no ramps for the store. No matter which side you approached from it involved a step up.

In addition, the corn maze is not exactly easy walking, and the large maze might be longer than some (though part of that is how lost you get). The GPS option and the fact that they have a small maze is a point in their favor.
