Los Angeles Griffith Park: Travel Town Museum

The Travel Town Museum is located in North Griffith Park, separated from the Live Steamers Railroad Club by a line of trees.

That makes this a good central location for Los Angeles train enthusiasts.

It is worth remembering that many children are train enthusiasts, so have a place where they can see and touch many different train for free fills a need.

A different age segment my be more into restoring older vehicles, but that works too.

Due to COVID the museum is not operating at full steam. Two exhibition halls are currently closed.

There is still a lot to see, and the train ride is still functioning, which is always a favorite.

There are also some nice touches to the decor, the brings a smile to the face of the big kids.

Accessibility: Paths are very smooth and every area with stairs had a ramp alternative. There was wheelchair and stroller parking for the train ride, though the train seats themselves may not be a comfortable fit for everyone.

COVID: While it is mostly outdoors now, mask wearing is required in the gift shop. (One visitor was complaining, but she still had to wear it.)

Staff was friendly and informative, which was much appreciated.
